Did you know?

• 85% of all TMJ and Headache Pain cases we treat are patients that have had braces earlier in life?
• 95% of all headaches (including migranes) are bite related?
• That a very high percentage of 4-biscuspid extraction ortho cases we see have pain, TMJ & Obstructive Sleep Disorder (Sleep Apnea) issues?
• That front tooth wear and crowding is a definitive sign that you have a jaw joint position problem?
Headaches
Written by Jeffrey M Rayl DDSDentistry and medicine are miles apart in understanding how the lack of proper development of the upper and lower jaws, bad bites and orthopedic positioning of the jaw joints (TMJ’s) can be involved not only with sleep disorders but also head, neck, and facial pain.
The truth is, medical doctors receive little or no training in the human chewing system, TMJ problems or how Bad Bites can be involved with sleep disorders and/or head, neck and facial pain.
Most people are unaware of all the dental options available for diagnosing and treating their head and neck pain along with obstructive sleep apnea.
Many of our patients come to us after running the gamut of medical doctors and the pharmaceutical treatments they often prescribe for head and neck pain. MD’s, DO’s, Chiropractors, Physical Therapists, Neurologists, Internal Medicine Specialists are all well meaning, however, their training does not adequately cover orthopedic development of the jaws, bite problems and the TMJs (jaw joints). This has been left for dentists like Dr. Rayl who focus on Head and Neck Pain, TMJ Pain and dental related sleep disorders.
If you are suffering from chronic headaches, neck-aches, or temporomandibular (TMJ) jaw joint pain, there is hope for you!
You can be accurately diagnosed as to whether your headache pain or sleep disordered breathing is related to the orthopedic malpositioning of the jaws along with the bad bites that are commonly seen. We look for the cause of your pain instead of just treating the symptoms.
If you have had or are currently suffering from:
- Headaches including migraines
- Pain behind the eyes
- Head, neck or shoulder pain
- Grinding of your teeth
- Front tooth wear
- Past orthodontic treatment
- Past headgear usage with braces
- Bicuspid extractions with braces
- Clicking, popping or grating noises in your jaw joints
- Congestion of the ears
Your pain can be permanently relieved with an accurate diagnosis and appropriate dental therapies. We have more experience than anyone in Colorado. We’ve been diagnosing and treating head and neck pain and obstructive sleep apnea for over 33 years. Our success rate is very high!
